In 1992, Crayonhouse opened restaurants and shops in Japan to provide natural and organic vegetables and other products in Osaka and Tokyo, long before the Japan Agricultural Standard’s organic certification was introduced in 2001.

Since then, we have offered dishes using organic ingredients. However, in Japan until recently there was no organic hotel or restaurant certification by a third-party authentication. Now this is possible and the Japan Organic & Natural Foods Association (JONA), a major Japanese certifier, has certified our restaurant.
